About Karin

Karin Boyd, P.G., is a registered professional geologist, with 30 years of experience in applied fluvial geomorphology.  As the sole owner of Applied Geomorphology, Inc. (AGI), Karin specializes in geomorphic assessment and development of process-based strategies for restoration design and aquatic resource management.  Her primary interest is determining how natural physical environment and human influences are collectively manifested in stream processes, and using that information to develop context for restoration projects. She has worked closely with water resource engineers and biological scientists throughout her career, and is especially interested in bridging those two disciplines to derive creative, sustainable, and cost-effective approaches to river corridor management.
